Burberry Met Gala 2025 promotional video

      The Met Gala 2025

Burberry returned to The Met Gala with guests from film, music, performance, sport and style: André 3000, Angela Bassett, Jalen Hurts, Bryonna Hurts, Cardi B, Jodie Turner-Smith, Law Roach, Liu Wen and Roberto Bolle. This year, the event celebrated The Costume Institute’s spring exhibition, ‘Superfine: Tailoring Black Style’ – an exploration of Black dandyism from its emergence in 18th-century England to its contemporary incarnations.

Actor Angela Bassett’s look had its roots in New York City, inspired by the Black dandies who showcased their style on the streets uptown, as a celebration of identity and intellectual expression.

Rapper Cardi B’s look was inspired by Edwardian styles of the early 1900s, subverting the era’s dress codes to present a character in command.

For this year’s Met Gala, we partnered with the highly regarded image architect Law Roach. Using his expansive knowledge of style and culture, Roach ensured this year’s theme was prominently woven into the fabric of Burberry’s creative expression. ‘There were so many aspects, emotions and memories that came up when I heard the theme. That’s what informs my choices, instead of just references. It’s me figuring out how to bring it into the DNA and the brand.’
